Harry Styles often feels like a laboratory experiment, perfectly designed to make as many women as humanly possible swoon. There’s the pearl earring; the penchant for Gucci silk blouses; the feminist slogan tees—and now, there’s the fact that he’s a Pilates-loving pescatarian who spent lockdown watching Clueless. All of the above information was revealed in a hefty new profile in Vogue, for which journalist Hamish Bowles visited Styles in his native London in between the UK’s first and second lockdowns.

Among other things, Styles discussed his quarantine experience, explaining that he hunkered down in a “friendship pod” in Laurel Canyon, Los Angeles, with three members of his band.

“We would put names in a hat and plan the week out,” he explained. “If you were Monday, you would choose the movie, dinner, and the activity for that day. I like to make soups, and there was a big array of movies; we went all over the board.” Styles cites Goodfellas and Clueless as two of the pod’s favourite films

Styles—who is thought to have been single since breaking up with long-term girlfriend Camille Rowe back in 2018—said the experience of lockdown gave him a renewed appreciation for the importance of friendship.

“It was a really good lesson in what makes me happy now… I honestly just like being around my friends. That’s been my biggest takeaway. Just being on my own the whole time, I would have been miserable.”

And with that (and a certain bespoke Gucci dress), the world has collectively fallen in love with Harry Styles a little more.
