Hans Zimmer, the celebrated and prolific composer behind more than 120 of cinema’s most iconic scores, has announced today that he will be bringing his career spanning stadium tour to Australia and New Zealand, an experience he describes as one “unlike any concert [audiences] have ever been to before.”

Announced off the back of a string of European tour dates, including two sold out performances at Wembley Arena, Hans Zimmer Revealed will include highlights from Zimmer’s classic movie scores, including those from Gladiator, The Lion King (for which he won an Oscar) and Pirates of the Caribbean, before exploring re-imagined versions of more recent work from films like The Dark Knight Trilogy and Inception.

True to form, Zimmer’s show doesn’t rely on conventional orchestral formats, with the composer having enlisted Pink Floyd’s lighting designer Marc Brickman to set a scene inspired by David Bowie and Rolling Stones concerts.

Performance cues also come courtesy of Zimmer’s collaborator Pharrell Williams, with whom he worked on the score for The Amazing Spider Man 2 and Hidden Figures (the latter out January 2017). In a statement, the composer promised appearances from some of “my very talented friends”, as well as special guests from the pop and rock worlds.

Pre-sale tickets are currently on sale. General tickets will go on sale this coming Friday December 2. You can find out more information here.
