Now, 12 months on, Hailey Bieber is showing the trend has longevity—showcasing her own spin on the knitted bra look for a day-time date with Kendall Jenner in Los Angeles.
Updating the look for 2020, Bieber wore high-waisted denim and strappy pop-of-citrus sandals and, naturally, a face mask. Jenner, on the other hand, wore high-waisted beige trousers and a sheer cropped white tank, while both models opted for an oh-so-Noughties ‘bun cinched with a claw grip clip’ hairdo.
Khaite’s bralettes were nothing short of a sensation when they first launched. Following Holmes’ iconic appearance, searches for Khaite rose by 217%. Even in 2020, the cashmere bra is still the brand’s most-searched item, ever. High street knock-offs from the likes of Zara began popping up all over the globe. With the cosiness of #WFH-wear and the immediate polish that comes with a beige matching two-set, it’s no surprise celebrities are still fawning over the ribbed bra/cardigan partnership. If it’s good enough for a supermodel, it’s good enough for us.
