Instagram boyfriends have long been a joke when it comes to lifting the lid on popular influencers’ highly curated fashion shoots and ‘candid’ coffee run shots on Saturday mornings. So much so that an account dedicated to showing the behind-the-scenes of these shoots has millions of followers and videos of the ultimate IG husband Justin Bieber trailing behind his wife Hailey Bieber to get the perfect shot have gone viral on TikTok.

But laugh as we might, there’s no denying that one of the upsides of being in a relationship is having someone you can get (beg) to take cute photos of you whenever an opportune moment may arise.

Thankfully, when a SO isn’t available, usually your girlfriends will step in — and do an even better job. Case in point: Kendall Jenner’s latest Instagram photo dump from her girl’s trip to Tokyo following her split from her boyfriend of three years, Devin Booker.

Uploading three photos in a gallery from the city’s immersive teamLab exhibition, the model is photographed by Hailey Bieber, who was celebrating her birthday with her husband and friends that week. Jenner is seen standing front on to the camera in a green-lit room, cropped from the waist up. In another closer image, she smiles at the camera, before looking to the side in the third yellow room.

Despite the blurry nature of the images, Jenner’s signature minimalist wardrobe is a focal point, showing her black knit roll-neck pullover paired with a black maxi skirt and a leather belt bag from her go-to label, The Row. “I’m…. A photographer,” Bieber commented on the post.

Following the cultural outing, the women went to Tokyo Tower with their friend Justin Skye before celebrating Bieber’s birthday with karaoke. Juxtaposing Jenner’s monochromatic style, Bieber wore a vintage gold sequined bustier from Dolce & Gabbana with baggy jeans from Balenciaga and Balenciaga’s white Cagole heels. She added a faux fur coat from Bottega Veneta, a Louis Vuitton bag and her favourite pair of Balenciaga glasses.

The next day’s hangover cure? A big bowl of ramen, of course.
