GWYNETH PALTROW

Say what you want about Gwyneth Paltrow, but the woman certainly brings the laughs. This time? The goop founder recently joined Hailey Bieber for a new episode of her YouTube series, which invites guests inside the model’s (staged) bathroom. Fresh from the launch of Bieber’s Rhode Skin line, Paltrow – a beauty and wellness entrepreneur herself – provided the perfect guest for the star’s show, and we’re pleased to say she brought her infamous humour to the bathroom.

Paltrow began by walking Bieber through her signature chocolate mint smoothie recipe as the pair chatted, before Bieber started showing Paltrow her new Rhode skincare products. But when she got to the brand’s hero product in the Rhode routine – the Peptide Glazing Fluid serum – Paltrow suddenly got confused. “Glazing fluid?” she asked. “What are you glazing?”

Bieber is well known for her obsession with glassy, glowing skin, which in turn built Rhode’s philosophy around providing skincare products that leave your skin looking like a glazed donut. “I know you’re curious about this glazed donut concept. I didn’t come up with this concept, this is something that’s always been in the skincare world,” Bieber said in response to Paltrow’s puzzled look.

“For me it’s about the look, that glowy, glazy sheen. I don’t want to go to bed at night unless I look like a freshly glazed donut,” she continued, to which Paltrow replied, “Oh okay, got it.” Still appearing a little baffled, Paltrow admitted, “First [I thought] does that mean someone wants to lick your face, like a food thing? Then I thought glazed donut sounded sort of… sexual.”

Bieber laughed, joking back to Paltrow, “You’re like ‘what’s this new position everyone’s getting into, the glazed donut?” She then went on to explain to the star that the brand’s serum actually delivers a donut-like glossy finish to the skin – no sex involved.

Let’s hope Paltrow tries Bieber’s signature glazed donut nails next.
