GRAZIA SOUNDS ICONIC LIVE RECORDING – THE RUBENS
The momentum behind The Ruben’s trademark bluesy rock continues following their 2016 Triple J Hottest 100 win. In January, their single Hoops beat out favourite Kendrick Lamar’s King Kunta to take the crown. And ironically, at the very moment this performance was filmed, Lamar – shackled in chains – was on stage in Los Angeles collecting five Grammy Awards. “It’s crazy to think about” laughed lead singer Sam Margin. “Obviously Australians are going to favour Australian music but it’s still nice to be up there with someone like that. We were stoked.” Now, ahead of their Australian tour which kicks off June 11, The Rubens bring their indie soul to the GRAZIA SOUNDS stage in a pared back performance of the hit that beat out one of the world’s biggest rappers.
