One Mile, the online-only label helmed by influencer and digital talent Sammy Robinson, made its debut at Afterpay Australian Fashion Week today.
Held at Beta Bar in Sydney, the two-year-old brand is an extension of Robinson’s own laid back but elevated style, characterised by floaty dresses, relaxed knitwear, lived-in denim and twin sets in vacation-adjacent prints.
It’s no mean feat that the label showed this early in the piece, but is a true testament to Robinson’s commitment to ensure her brand stands on its own leg, away from her 654K+ Instagram followers.
Models walked barefoot on a sandy runway dressed in buttery suede sets, satin mini dresses, crochet detailing and loose trousers. It was easy, coastal and cool — perfect pieces to wear to death in real life.
The beauty was an extension of the collection — relaxed, unfussy but elevated. Skin was prepped with Sunday Riley, a brand Ronbinson swears by for her own immaculate complexion. After models were treated to a mini-facial backstage, M.A.C Cosmetics senior artist Carol Mackie created a natural, glassy complexion, lifted with soft peachy blush, a coral lip and plenty of highlighter (swoon).
“We wanted to create a look influenced by Sammy’s love for One Mile beach, bringing light to the skin, sandy tones to the eye lid and a natural flush of colour to the cheeks,” Mackie said in a press release.
Hair was clean, glossy and very natural. There wasn’t a set style — instead, the common theme was natural texture, glassy shine and an understated finish. Whether pulled back or worn loose, it was again, perfect inspiration for every day.
