Gigi Hadid is celebrating the arrival of spring and marvelling at motherhood.
“Can’t believe my baby is 7 months this week,” the supermodel captioned an Instagram photo she posted on April 20 of Khai, her 6-month-old daughter with singer Zayn Malik, 28.
While Khai’s chic Versace sweatsuit and black boots were visible in the shot, the doting mother has been careful not to reveal the little girl’s face on social media.
The day before Khai’s couture closeup, Hadid shared shots showing her holding the baby — whose name is from the Arabic for “the chosen one” — while they enjoyed all the stunning springtime blossoms on her family’s farm in Pennsylvania.
“She was so bright right away,” Hadid recently told Vogue of her firstborn, who she delivered in a home birth last September following 14 hours of labor.
“I had to dig deep,” Gigi recalled of the delivery. “I knew it was going to be the craziest pain in my life, but you have to surrender to it and be like, ‘This is what it is.’ I loved that.”
“I know my mom and Zayn and Bella were proud of me, but at certain points I saw each of them in terror,” she added.
New grandmother Yolanda Hadid confirmed to the magazine that seeing her eldest give birth was a “whole other level of proud,” explaining, “You go from looking at her as a daughter to looking at her as a fellow mother.”
The 25-year-old model new mom decided she wanted to be a hands-on parent and forewent hiring a baby nurse or nanny after giving birth.
“She decided to completely take care of the baby alone,” Yolanda explained, “and I think that bond is so important.”
