There were notable absentees from last week’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2017 line-up announcement. This writer couldn’t personally get past the fact German model (and Leonardo DiCaprio’s reported new squeeze) Lorena Rae was discounted, but bigger headlines wondered where the first-ever sister duo Gigi and Bella Hadid were. Did they not make the casting cut because of a scheduling clash? What could be more pressing than walking arguably the most eminent runway in the world?
Gigi Hadid though delighted her fans on Monday when she posted a photo to Instagram confirming she will be joining her sister at this year’s VS show in Shanghai. “Forever and ever a dream come true to be asked back to the VS Show!!!,” the 22-year-old model posted. “Thank you my friends @ed_razek @10magazine @ @johndavidpfeiffer @monica.mitro for another unforgettable opportunity; every aspect makes me feel like a dreaming kid again (as shown here at last year’s fitting, by @jeromeduran)! @victoriassecret #VSFS2017.”
Her announcement follows sister Bella who made her debut with the lingerie giant last year. She had the task of walking past her ex-boyfriend The Weeknd as he performed on the runway.
