Little has been seen of Gigi Hadid since Zayn Malik was accused of verbal and physical abuse against the model and her mother, Yolanda Hadid, in late October. The couple subsequently split and were discussing custody over their child, Khai. Hadid was seen for the first time leaving a shoot with her sister Bella Hadid on Monday in New York City.
In a post-breakup glow up (though she never needed it anyways) Hadid’s auburn hair was swapped for her usual long blonde locks. The 26-year-old paired a vibrant red Versace jumpsuit over a black sweater and paired with a beanie and combat boots.
The model has only posted twice to social media since the scandal unfolded to promote her work. In early November a rep for Hadid told People, “Gigi is solely focused on the best for Khai. She asks for privacy during this time.”
At the time Malik pled “no contest” on charges of harassment and will serve 360 days of probation and complete anger management and domestic violence programs. He has staunchly denied the allegations.
“This was and still should be a private matter but it seems for now there is divisiveness and despite my efforts to restore us to a peaceful family environment that will allow for me to co-parent my daughter in a manner in which she deserves, this has been ‘leaked’ to the press,” Malik wrote to Twitter when it was first reported by TMZ. “I am hopeful though for healing for all involved with the harsh words shared and more importantly, I remain vigilant to protect Khai and give her the privacy she deserves.”
An insider of the Hadid family told E! News,“Gigi and Zayn are broken up, but intend to co-parent Khai in a peaceful and healthy environment. They are working out custody details. They are in contact over Khai and making decisions for her.”
