Gigi Hadid has joined a number of prominent members of the industry to slam Kanye West. The rapper and designer presented Yeezy Season 9 at Paris Fashion Week overnight to an audience that was outraged by the messaging on several items of clothing.
While we won’t give a platform to the remarks here, Vogue contributing editor Gabriella Karefa-Johnson slammed the collection on Instagram stories calling it “irresponsible” and “dangerous”. West proceeded to launch a hate campaign against Karefa-Johnson in erratic social media posts commenting on her personal style and questioning the integrity of her work.
“This is not a fashion person You speak on Ye Ima speak on you Ask Trevor Noah,” West published in a since-deleted caption.
“WHEN I SAID WAR I MEANT WAR”, he also wrote in a since-deleted post.
Gigi Hadid commented on a recent Instagram post calling West a “bully” and a “joke”. “You wish u had a percentage of her intellect. You have no idea haha…. If there’s actually a point to any of your shit she might be the only person that could save u,” Hadid wrote. “As if the “honor” of being invited to your show should keep someone from giving their opinion ..? Lol. You’re a bully and a joke.”
Fellow model Hailey Bieber joined the conversation sharing her support for the fashion editor and stylist. Without mentioning West she wrote on Instagram stories, “My respect for you runs deep my friend! To know is to adore you and to work with you is an honor,” the beauty brand founder wrote. “the most kind. the most talented. the most fun. the most chic.”
Less than an hour ago the Yeezy designer published another Instagram post revealing he and Karefa-Johnson had dinner and apologised to one another. There was something about Baz Luhrmann filming the meeting (?) with the approval of Anna Wintour (?).
“GABBY IS MY SISTER,” he wrote. “IM NOT LETTING PEOPLE GO TO BED THINKING I DIDN’T MEET WITH GABRIELLE AT 5 PM TODAY FOR 2 HOURS THEN WE WENT TO DINNER AT FERDIE.”
West continued, “WE APOLOGIZED TO EACH OTHER FOR THE WAY WE MADE EACH OTHER FEEL WE ACTUALLY GOT ALONG AND HAVE BOTH EXPERIENCED THE FIGHT FOR ACCEPTANCE IN A WORLD THAT’S NOT OUR OWN. SHE DISAGREED I DISAGREED WE DISAGREED. AT LEAST WE BOTH LOVE FERDIE AND FASHION.”
