It’s the news we’ve always wanted to hear: Gigi Hadid is creating her own clothing line. On Instagram overnight, the supermodel shared a behind-the-scenes look at the design process for a new knitwear label titled Guest in Residence. “Been working on something …. with love, @guestinresidence”. Hadid has also changed her bio to read, “founder” and “creative director” of the brand.

A rolodex of images accompanied the social media post and featured a photo of colourful swatches with co-collaborators fashion editor Gabriella Karefa-Johnson and knitwear expert CJ Kim also tagged. We also received a sneak peek at the branded clothing tags, samples of vibrant sweatshirts and, what looks to be a grey loungewear set.

The announcement arrives after the 27-year-old was photographed walking the streets of New York City this week in a modern take on the skater girl aesthetic. She wore ripped jeans and converse sneakers with a knitted vest and bucket hat that are yet to be credited. Could this be a first look at the launch collection? Sign us up.

It’s not yet known when the label will officially be released though we can expect a fall/winter launch. Followers can subscribe to the newsletter, here.

The launch of a clothing line is not surprising given her experience in the industry. She was tapped to co-host the Netflix reality design series Next In Fashion in 2022 and earlier this year released a collaborative swim collection with Frankies Bikinis. She follows a long list of celebrities that have gone on to run their own incredibly successful clothing lines including Victoria Beckham, Alexa Chung, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen and Khloe Kardashian.

Stay tuned for further developments.
