More than two women under 40 are diagnosed with breast cancer every day in Australia, yet only one in two regularly check their breasts. It’s a scary figure, but one that’s very much real and it’s for this reason that GHD has been actively working with breast cancer charities for 16 years.

As of this week, GHD has launched its “Take Control Now” collection in partnership with the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF), with $20 from every limited-edition baby pink tool sold being donated to support research into fighting breast cancer. The new collection features the award-winning Platinum+ Styler, gold styler and new Helios hairdryer.

The initiative was born from the idea that breast checks should be a (very important) part of a woman’s self care routine. According to data obtained by GHD, 73 per cent of Australian women use a hair styler at least once a month, so we should be dedicating some of this time in front of the mirror to our boobs. To spread the good word, GHD have partner with 11 incredible women diagnosed with breast cancer before the age of 35 to share their stories. You can read more about them here.
