The stunning wife of the disgraced film mogul Harvey Weinstein has announced she’s leaving him. Marchesa designer Georgina Chapman today said her heart was broken as a growing number of Hollywood’s most powerful women – including Gwyneth Paltrow and Angelina Jolie – come forward to speak out of Weinstein’s sexual misconduct.

“My heart breaks for all the women who have suffered tremendous pain because of these unforgivable actions,” she told People. “I have chosen to leave my husband. Caring for my young children is my first priority and I ask the media for privacy at this time.”

Chapman and Weinstein married in 2007 and parent seven-year-old India Pearl and four-year-old Dashiell Max Robert. It’s a different turn of events than what Weinstein described when news of his past indiscretions broke via an explosive investigative article in The New York Times. Speaking of Chapman, he said, “She stands 100 percent behind me. Georgina and I have talked about this at length,” he said, adding “Georgina will be with Lisa [Bloom, Weinstein’s former advisor] and others kicking my ass to be a better human being and to apologise to people for my bad behavior, to say I’m sorry, and to absolutely mean it.”

Famous last words, Weinstein.
