How many cities is the most you’ve flown to in a week?

“Four of five?”

What do you do on the plane to ensure you are looking fresh and lens-ready by the end of it’s route?

“I have to try and sleep as much as I can on the flight and drink lots of water. Load yourself with a good face oil and a very thick moisturiser. Go to the stores at the airport and lather it on, get the good sh*t!” [Laughs]

You fly into the fashion capitals around the world on a regular basis. Can you tell me your favourite haunts in each city?

New York: “There’s so many great places. There’s a really cool place called Handy Liquor Bar that has fun little board games and really good farm-to-table food so that’s a good spot.”

Paris: “I have managed to style my favourite spots in Google Maps all over the world which is great because then you remember where to go. Café Pinson, go there is Paris. It’s a health food store.”

London:The Blakes Hotel has a cool restaurant and then downstairs is a bar/lounge-y area which is quite fun.”

Milan: “There’s a place called God Save The Food which does really good food. I’m always onto business with food! I’ve never been out in Milan so that’s all I’ve got!”

How do you keep your workouts in check when you’re on the move?

I have bands and skipping ropes. I try and use them. Sometimes it’s easier said than done. There’s a lot you can do in your room, even just 20 minutes in the morning or at night just to feel like you’ve done something. There’s so many apps now. I often use the Nike Training app but sometimes I’ll just YouTube yoga and do the first video. I try and book into classes nearby wherever I am.

“I could literally have done a workout in the sky on my Etihad flight here. There was so much room just for me, the couch became the bed.”

You’re very good friends with Nike trainer Kirsty Godso, tell me what your workout routine looks like when you’re in New York.

“She does the best workouts. She’s just started training at a studio and does awesome high intensity training. There’s a lot of plyometrics, it’s really hard. She works out all the time, she’s a really good trainer, she’s so fit and we’ve been best friends in New York for years. I try and make all her classes which is great motivation. It’s tough, hard, it gets your heart rate going. It’s competitive but its fun and she’s very motivating to look at at the front of a class. It’s like ‘OK, I believe you, I will squat, I will get lower. Sure!’”

You feature in the new music video for Selena Gomez and Kygo’s It Ain’t Me. This meant you had to tap into acting, how did you find that experience?

“It was really fun, I had worked with the director before – he also takes stills – so he requested me and it was a really fun crew. We shot over two nights so it was very rushed, it should have taken a lot longer. The turnaround from when we filmed to when it was live was short and literally meant we took one take of everything. It was tricky but it was a lot of fun.”

Where was it filmed?

“It was in New York. So that motorbike scene was filmed in downtown Manhattan at 1am. That was the first time I’d been on a motorbike too. I pretended to my Mum that I was doing the stunt – the crash – and she was freaking out. I was like ‘Don’t worry Mum, it’s with a stuntman, I’ll be fine.” [Laughs]

Have you met Selena before?

“I have a few times, she’s lovely. She’s a lovely, fun girl.”

Harry Styles just released his new album, have you listened to it yet?

“Ooh, I haven’t, no.”

There have been rumours his track Kiwi is about you. As your star rises, there will be imminent rumours romantically linking you to somebody, even if you just walk down the street. How are you learning to deal with that tabloid attention?

“You just go and live your life, you know. Everyone is just normal people. It’s really no different and I’m not going to change anything or do anything different… so yeah.”

Tell me about Victoria’s Secret. What was that experience like?

“It was amazing and all you would kind of think it would be even though it is hyped up so much and on a pedestal. It was so much fun, even the girls who had done it so many times before were all shaking with nerves before going out. It’s been a big dream for me so it was awesome to finally get to do it. I flew Mum and Dad over so they watched it. Being in Paris was really special because I got to spend the four days before the show with them and with all the girls.”

Could you enjoy all the yummy French food with your family beforehand or did you wait until after the show?

“We were all pretty diligent. You’re up there for the world to see so you might as well put your best foot forward.”

Well you looked incredible, it was exciting for Australians and Kiwis to see one of their own representing in such a beautifully graceful way.

“Oh, thank you. I came back home and we had a little viewing party with my friends and Mum, it was fun.”

Were there any models that you became particularly close with?

“I’m friendly with a lot of the girls through shoots and shows and we’re kind of always at the same parties together so I knew quite a few of the girls beforehand. Everyone is lovely and the older girls who had done it before were like the mentors to the new girls. There’s always that thing in a sports team where everyone hypes each other up and that’s what this was like.”

What surprised you most about the experience?

“How nervous and excited the veterans were, it was cool to see that it wasn’t just us who were freaking out and that everyone loved being there. Ed [Razek] from VS said it was one of the best shows so that was really special.”

I don’t think you couldn’t be excited around Alessandra Ambrosio and Adriana Lima’s energy.

“Exactly. And they used to be plastered all over the VS diaries and suddenly you’re sitting next to them. It was like, ‘Woah’.”
