Amal Clooney has given birth to twins, a boy and a girl named Alexander and Ella. Her actor husband George’s publicist told U.S. media the happy news overnight confirming the international human rights lawyer and children are doing well via a statement.
“This morning Amal and George welcomed Ella and Alexander Clooney into their lives,” it read. “Ella, Alexander and Amal are all healthy, happy and doing fine. George is sedated and should recover in a few days.”
Amal, 39, and George, 56, (who will now perennially be cracking dad jokes) married in Venice in Italy in 2014. Once Hollywood’s most notorious bachelors, George swore he would never marry again, but all changed when he met the attorney. “We met in Lake Como,” he told The David Lettermen Show. “She was a friend of a friend who came to visit and then I chased her for many months, calling and writing, those kinds of things.” He admitted in a later interview “from the minute we met, we sort of felt like we were going to be together.”
