WARDROBE.NYC, the cult direct-to-consumer concept founded by Josh Goot & Christine Centenera, built itself upon the idea of creating the perfect, curated wardrobe. You couldn’t buy individual pieces, rather, you were presented with two ready-made wardrobe sets consisting of either 4 or 8 hero pieces. An alternative to the relentless production and consumption cycle endemic to the fashion industry, Goot and Centenera proposed a practical, minimalistic solution; all your wardrobe essentials bundled in luxurious, fixed packages. That is until today.

In an exclusive new retail partnership with MATCHESFASHION.COM, WARDROBE.NYC capsules are now available as individual pieces for the first time at MATCHESFASHION.COM. The selection includes WARDROBE.NYC’s latest release 04 DENIM, which includes a new collaboration with Levi’s®, and select items from releases 01 TAILORED, 02 SPORT and 03 STREET. “There’s been a lot of interest in our individual pieces, and we’ve always designed each release to relate to the next,” muses Centenera. “Due to the classic, minimal design, our pieces work separately or together, and can be styled across releases. Our partnership with MATCHESFASHION.com allows customers this opportunity for the first time.”

In addition to their new solo career, it’s also the first time WARDROBE.NYC will be available to purchase outside of the brand’s website and New York concept store. The partnership launches with an editorial featuring Centenera, her real-life partner and actor Joel Edgerton, blogger Nicole Warne and jewellery designer Jordan Askill wearing pieces available at MATCHESFASHION.COM.

With that celebrity seal of approval (the brand counts Kim Kardashian West, Virgil Abloh, Margot Robbie, Alicia Vikander, Victoria & David Beckham, Hailey Bieber and Gigi Hadid as fans), and with a collective desire for retail individualism, these will no doubt fly out the proverbial door.

WARDROBE.NYC is available from july 31 at MATCHESFASHION.COM and via a shoppable installation at MATCHESFASHION.COM’s Mayfair townhouse, 5 Carlos Place, until 31st July 2019. you can sign up for updates here.
