NEW YORK CITY: It’s hugely overwhelming stepping backstage at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. Call it organised chaos; photographers skipping over each other’s lenses, managers telling publicists to ‘please wait a minute’ and models basking in their vanity lights. Scroll through and you’ll find Adriana Lima bare-faced and the only model who was fine with being photographed that way. (Rumours are swirling since our interview with Georgia Fowler and the tip-off that this could indeed be Lima’s last year before she hangs up her wings after 18 years.) There’s smiley Romee Strijd, the first model we see as we enter the room and the ever-bubbly Sara Sampaio who almost leaps out of her chair to say hello – we’ve never met.
