For Victoria’s Secret Angel and David Jones Ambassador Victoria Lee, looking good is all part of the job. But when it comes to a big event like the Spring Racing Carnival, a good deal of preparation is involved – even when you are a mega model.

Ahead of Saturday’s Caulfield Guineas, we caught up with the beautiful Lee to chat all things racing, beauty and fashion. Here, she divulges her go-to beauty race look, what beauty treatments she gets and what’s inside her clutch come race day.

Giddy up.

What is your go-to beauty look for the races?
I love a natural, glowy makeup look and will stick to that for the races – less is more! I might add a bold rep lip if I need a touch of colour.

What is your ultimate race-day outfit look like?
I am still working on my final outfit, however I am really inspired by Carolyn Bessette Kennedy at the moment – so something simple and sophisticated that focuses on good tailoring.

What beauty products do you pack in your race day bag?
I’ll always carry my essential beauty products with me including my YSL Touche Éclat concealer, WELEDA lip balm and a Tom Ford finishing power for touch-ups throughout the day. My current bag of choice would be a Strathberry mini bag!

What is your number one fashion rule?
For something that makes you feel comfortable! Opt for a beauty look and outfit that makes you feel your best so you can really get out trackside and enjoy the day without worrying about what you look like. What are your trackside beauty tips? Make sure to use a high-quality moisturiser (with SPF!) and primer underneath your foundation to ensure it lasts throughout the day.

Do you do beauty treatments leading up to the races?
I plan on visiting Melanie Grant Melbourne for a facial in the lead-up to the races, and will try to visit Jocelyn Petroni when I’m in Sydney for a manicure. I also make sure to drink plenty of water, eat lots of greens and get enough sleep in the lead-up to ensure glowing skin from within. I have also recently added the beauty chef into my regime to help support healthy skin and hair!

What is your number one beauty and fashion rule when it comes to Spring racing?
As this is my first time attending the Caulfield Cup with David Jones, I’m still learning myself what’s expected fashion and beauty wise but my main tip is to go for a beauty look and outfit you feel strong, confident and comfortable in! That way you can enjoy the day looking and feeling good.
