Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling may just be Hollywood’s most elusive couple. After twelve years and two kids together, the two have still only been photographed a handful of times.
But in a surprising twist, Mendes shared a series of throwback snaps that mark the tenth anniversary of the release of The Place Beyond The Pines, the film where she first met and fell in love with Gosling.
“🖤Luke & Romina🖤,” she captioned the Instagram carousel. “Mi socia @scondito just sent me this telling me it’s been 10 years since this film came out.”
“Feels like lifetimes ago,” she wrote.
While some photos depicted scenes from the movie, others were BTS shots of filming that showed the couple’s real-life chemistry.
Having met in 2011 while working on the film, the actors confirmed their real-life romance when they were spotted on a PDA-filled date at Disneyland just a few months later.
In 2012, they welcomed their first daughter, Esmeralda, followed by Amada in 2016.
Though they are notoriously private about their life together, both have given the odd nod to each other in public. In 2015, Gosling, 42, gushed about Mendes, 49, in an interview with Hello! Magazine. When asked what he looks for in his ideal woman, he responded, “Eva Mendes. There’s nothing else I’m looking for.”

Last November, the actress confirmed rumours that she and her long-time love had secretly tied the knot when she mentioned her “husband” during a morning show interview.
While chatting to the hosts of the Today show about her time in Australia, Mendes let the cat out of the bag. “Everyone is so welcoming here, and my husband Ryan is here, and we are having the best time,” she said.
While that’s probably all we’ll get for a while, we’re beyond excited to see Gosling’s turn as Ken alongside Margot Robbie in the upcoming Barbie film, directed by Greta Gerwig. Sharing her enthusiasm over her husband’s role, Mendes posted a photo of Gosling in his Ken costume and wrote, “So. F. Funny. So. F. Good. So F excited for you to see this…#Thatsmyken.”
