Emily Ratajkowski may have had her Cinderella moment in her tulle-corseted Tory Burch dress for the 2023 Met Gala, but as the fairy tale goes, after the clock struck midnight the star took to the streets to get a little noughtie. Early 2000s naughty, that is.

Putting two very different spins on the eveningwear aesthetic du jour, sensual dressing, the 31-year-old stepped out for the Met Gala after parties in both a mesh and mini moment.

She didn’t beat Cardi B for the record of the most amount of clothing changes in the evening—Cardi stepped out in four different looks while Ratajkowski only wore three—but given the first Monday in May is exclusively reserved for flexing your sartorial prowess, these looks are something fashion fanatics have been holding out for all year.

For her first ensemble, the podcast host donned a sheer black corseted dress from ‘IYKYK’ British-Turkish designer Dilara Findikogl.

Known for her deconstructed and unconventional approach to womenswear that combines elements of bondage, lingerie and vintage textures, Findikogl crafted a simple sheer midi dress with black boned detailing for Ratajkowski. Perfect for the boudoir, perfect for the after party, we say.

Keeping in with the evening’s dress code ‘In Honour Of Karl’, Ratajkowski doused herself in strings of pearls, silver chains and black ribbons, completing her look with a row of pearls hung loosely around her waist with letter charms that spelt out ‘Em Rata’.

Later in the evening, the model switched into a very Y2K chainmail magenta dress. The halter neck number’s asymmetrical hemline grazed Ratajkowski’s upper thighs, making the micro mini the perfect conclusion to this sartorial trilogy.

We’re sure Ratajkowski’s evening wasn’t the picture book ending we’re used to, but her Après Met look was delivering a fantasy nonetheless.
