Model, swimwear designer, NYT bestselling author and newly appointed podcast host Emily Ratajkowski is opening up about her divorce for the first time since she quietly quit her marriage to her husband Sebastian Bear-McClard earlier this year.

Ratajkowski, who was first spotted sans wedding rings over the summer, before reports surfaced of a split due to Bear-McClard’s alleged cheating, told Variety in an interview published Wednesday that she is learning to “let go.”

“I’m newly single for basically the first time in my life ever, and I just feel like I’m kind of enjoying the freedom of not being super worried about how I’m being perceived,” she told the magazine while speaking about her divorce-era love of being cute and candid on TikTok.

“One of the things I write about in the last essay of [“My Body”] is about control and kind of understanding that one of the best ways to actually be happy and have some semblance of control is letting go,” she continued.

Ratajkowski, who recently came out as bisexual on TikTok in the most TikTok of ways ever (replying to a video prompting “if you identify as bisexual, do you own a green velvet couch?” by showing off her own green velvet couch), filed for divorce from Bear-McClard earlier this year amid rumours of his infidelity. Sources confirmed this to Page Six, claiming he is a “serial cheater” and, my favourite quote, “a dog.” The pair initially tied the knot at a courthouse after two months of dating in 2018 and share a 1-year-old son, Sylvester Apollo Bear.

Since the split, Ratajkowski has been linked to Brad Pitt, who sources say she’s been spending time with recently. Though when Variety tries to bring the actor up, they say she sidesteps the question “expertly.” Touché.
