What does a supermodel wear to ring in 30 years? Something tight, bright and sparkly, of course.
For Emily Ratajkowski, who is currently celebrating reaching her third decade on holiday somewhere tropical with her husband, Sebastian Bear-McClard, and newborn son, Sly, her birthday outfit comes courtesy of Versace.
A few days ago, Ratajkowski wore Versace’s mermaid bra to its natural habitat: the beach. Pairing the gem-encrusted shell bra with an orange skirt and bare feet, and matching the stunning sunset:
But the statement look wasn’t the only new season Versace the birthday girl packed for her trip.
On the evening of her 30th, EmRata posted a series of photos wearing another gown by the Italian fashion house. The tight blue midi dress she wore for her birthday celebrations was covered in embellishments of colourful starfish and was debuted during Versace’s spring/summer 2021 collection (which brought back the house’s iconic ocean-inspired Trésor de la Mer print from the 1990s) on model Irina Shayk.
“Very happy bday girl,” Ratajkowski captioned the post. Versace designer Donatella Versace quickly commented on Ratajkowski’s look writing, “You’re breathtaking!!!! 🧜♀️💙 love you, Emily 😘”
Dua Lipa has also shown her love for the same dress. The British singer wore the white mini version to the American Music Awards in November last year, posting a series of shots of herself in the look to Instagram.
Also in Ratajkowski’s suitcase was swimwear from her own line, Inamorata. The model posed in an orange and blue printed bikini with her signature string-tie waist detail, cuddling baby Sylvester in a pair of shorts that matched his mum’s swimsuit.
The full set is available to shop in both Ratajkowski’s blue and orange print and in a similar pink and yellow option.
Another photo revealed a glimpse of what appeared to be Ratajkowski’s husband Sebastian Bear-McClard wearing an adult version of the same shorts as his toddler. A full matching family? Adorable.
Here’s hoping Versace makes Sly a baby version of Ratajkowski’s birthday dress, too.
