Welcome to another instalment of Editors Picks for the month of July. As we grapple with another cold month in Australia we’re looking to skincare salves and wardrobe warmers. In addition, we’re lucky enough to be privy to all the newest and best releases whether that be a store opening in Madrid or new lingerie. Whatever may come our way these are our favourites. Tried, tested and wish listed.

“I made a pact with myself a couple of weeks ago to be more regimented with my skincare during the cooler months. After editing many an article by our beauty editor Emily on the magic that is Emma Lewisham, I started an EL-exclusive daily skincare regime; a purple and pink-packaged revolution that has seen my dry skin’s texture drastically improved. The prized product among the new routine? Emma Lewisham’s Supernatural 72-hour Hydration Face Créme. The rich, thick, velvety formula is packed with 32 ingredients that are scientifically proven to be at the centre of a Venn diagram for the regeneration of glowiness, hydration and collagen. (For the uninitiated, once you’re done with your EL products, the brand takes the bottles back to be recycled or refilled.) A reminder that none of these product recommendations on this article are paid. When it comes to night time emollients, if you want to know what’s it, it’s this.” – Jessica Bailey, editorial director

“The jewellery brand Love Isabelle arrived in my inbox a few months ago at the launch of their very special Moissanite Engagement Rings. While I have no plans on an engagement in the near future, I did fall in love with the brand and their delicate take on fine (but affordable) jewellery. As I hit the milestone of 25 this year, I told myself I would start curating a personal collection of quality pieces that I will want to wear forever. I personally wear silver due to my skin tone and luckily enough the brand offers iterations of both gold and sterling silver in most of their pieces. These Portia Hoops, a sweet take on a classic style, are high on my wish list.” – Rebekah Clark, features writer

Everybody is heading overseas. While I was lucky enough to do so in late May, I even feel jealous watching people live their best European summers from the portal of Instagram. I thought I should let you all know though that if you do find yourself in Madrid, be sure to pop into the new Zimmermann store which opened last month. Like most buildings in Spain, this one was built in 1880 and the Australian brand has done a stellar job of combining the heritage features with contemporary design (there’s an internal courtyard!). As with all their new stores, artworks by Australians are the accents throughout the spaces. It’s definitely worth a look. Besides,  how much more glamorous can you get than drinking a Spritz in Madrid in a Zimmermann ruffled dress? Despite my jealousy, I’d even like your IG post.” – Jessica Bailey, editorial director

The Madrid store is located at Calle de Serrano, 22, 28001 Madrid, Spain and opened with the Spring 22 and Summer Swim 22 collections. HERE IS THE ADDRESS

“I was gifted a Frank Green water bottle nearly 12 months ago from a friend and unsurprisingly it has rarely left my side since. Call it my security [bottle], if you will. I may however have to retired my bottle-green iteration for the new chrome collection which has taken over the brand for a high fashion aesthetic. Available in silver, gold, blue and rainbow hues, the new colour ways are also available across a number of their products including the beloved takeaway coffee cup. If it’s a gift or even for yourself, each style is also customisable. You’ll never want to drink from a disposable bottle again. Plastic-free July is going very well.” – Rebekah Clark, features writer

“My genuine love affair with this body lotion began this Australian winter. The heating in my office was on full blast and I noticed my skin was beginning to appear really dehydrated. I had been gifted Drunk Elephant’s T.L.C. Glycolic Body Lotion – a dream-team formula which blends glycolic, tartaric, lactic and citric alpha hydroxy acids to smooth bumpy skin and improve uneven skin tone. It is one of the creamiest body lotions I have ever used (thanks to its star ingredient, shea butter!) and one that is deeply hydrating without being sticky. My days now end with an evening Pilates class and this fatty-acid-rich moisturiser. Because, is there anything better than coming home with aching limbs, jumping in the shower, exfoliating and then lathering yourself in a souffle-like lotion before bed? I think not.” -Jessica Bailey, editorial director

“While it may be cold outside, Bras N Things is heating things up under all the layers with the new Embody This collection. The diverse and body-positive brand has ushered in a new line of styles inspired by dance – ballet, contemporary, vogueing and burlesque – for a collection aimed at evoking the senses. From soft feminine colours to bright and bold, tassels and feathers there is a style made for everyone. As a former ballet dancer it was only natural that I opted for the baby pink set.” – Rebekah Clark, features writer

“A couple of years ago, I was living on the Lower East Side in New York and, as someone who prefers to apply a self-tanner over lazing in the sun, I was thrilled to discover Bondi Sands’ products stocked at my local CVS. Ever since that fateful day, the brand’s Aero Self Tanning 1-Hour Foam has been my weekly go-to; a quick, lightweight aerosol that I can wear at my desk, before washing off to an even, golden tan for post-work drinks. Bondi Sands have just released a series of illuminators and cream bronzers called “Glo” which I need to tell you about. My favourite is Bronze Lights, a creamy highlighter which I apply in a ‘C’ shape around my eye and along my cheekbone, a little on the bridge of my nose, and the top of forehead along my hairline. In this dreary weather, it gives Friday night’s glam a post-Euro-holiday lift. Try it out.” – Jessica Bailey, editorial director

“Friend of Audrey was founded in 2015 from Sydney. Known for its gorgeous knits and staple pieces, the brand pays homage to style icon Audrey Hepburn and the notion of timeless style – simplicity, comfort and sophistication – all that came to define her persona. If you’re not in Europe, you’re still braving cool winter days in Australia and there is no better ensemble than tailored pants and a cosy knit. Next on my wish list is this oversized mocha sweater which boasts a blend of acrylic and wool.” – Rebekah Clark, features writer

“Did anybody else game as a teen? Those who answered yes will tell you that before TMZ, before Kim Kardashian, there was The Sims; a microcosm of virtual avatars that lived in little houses you designed for them and fulfilled little daily tasks. Besides choosing the wallpaper in each room, my favourite part was choosing outfits for my Sims to wear. And, while society is still grappling with what exactly the future of fashion is in the metaverse, circular marketplace Depop has wasted no time and collaborated with The Sims! In the Sims 4’s latest Expansion Pack, Highschool Years, players are able to not only style their Sims’ outfits from the local thrift store (called ThrifTea) but can help their Sims hype up their outfits to increase its selling value, earn Simoleons (that’s the Sims’ currency) by reselling their best looks, and even become a Simfluencer. The Sims 4 High School Years Expansion Pack featuring the Depop collaboration will be available for purchase on 28 July, 2022 at 10AM PDT (July 29 3am AEDT). It will make a great gift for the gamer girl.” – Jessica Bailey, editorial director
