It was 12 months ago when guests gathered in George Street in Sydney Australia for the opening of Dior’s pop up boutique. We sipped champagne while adjusting our face masks and marvelled over a knitted iteration of the famous 1947 wasp-waisted bar jacket. Today our mornings are spent confined to the house as we work at the dining table, or the coffee table or the bed. But despite this (and perhaps fittingly so) we have another reason to celebrate the French couture house, with the launch of Dior.com.
From today, September 16, Dior will house a dedicated fashion boutique online. Customers will be able to shop the latest collections of women’s and men’s ready-to-wear and accessories, fine jewellery and timepieces, and, excitingly, Dior Maison homeware. Maria Grazia Chiuri’s Fall 2021 ready-to-wear collection – read: fairytale-esque silhouettes meets dark romanticism – is also available to shop now.
To further celebrate this digital endeavour, selected cult and covetable items will be made available exclusively on the e-tailer. This includes the ‘Lady Dior’ bag in yarrow pink quilted leather with enamelled charms, and both the ‘Dior Book Tote’ and ‘Dior Cannage’ headband in grey velvet ‘Mizza’ embroidery. The leopard motif is inspired by Mizza Bricard, Monsieur Dior’s muse.
While nothing can quite compare to the magical experience of shopping in-store, the Dior website contains a wealth of customer service experience with representatives standing by. You can speak to an expert via live chat, call Dior direct and for those out of lockdown areas, book an appointment in boutique.
