Sure to ruffle feathers (so to speak) among fans and animal lovers at large, Jennifer Lopez has just made an appearance in NYC on her way to a radio station segment wearing a full length animal-fur vest. The jury is still out as to whether the pelt is real, but from our point of view, the shearling interior looks awfully authentic. Even if it’s not real, it’s so reminiscent of the real-deal that it’s message is still a cause for concern.
An unusual choice for a woman with such an extreme following (91.1million followers on Instagram for example). Or perhaps not? Just two weeks ago, PETA slammed the actress-singer-dancer for her toting of a US$100,000 Hermes Birkin bag made from the skin of the Nile crocodile (accompanied by a very rabbit-y looking scarf, too). It’s a bag that has long caused activists concern for its use of poorly acquired, and unsustainable, animal product.
Today’s flaunt is, well, a little off considering its very graphic cut. It appears to be a full hide, the kind often used as floor rugs or couch throws. A questionable choice from Jenny From The Block, especially because it’s not even a piece designed to keep her warm…
Anyway, the trousers are super-chic, and a look a little more cruelty-free.
More to come.
