Demi Lovato is celebrating an important milestone, marking six months since she’s touched drugs or alcohol.

The Sorry Not Sorry singer posted a photo to Instagram of an Alcoholics Anonymous ‘six months’ chip, which members receive after staying sober for half a year. She also shared a picture of a cake with a handwritten note reading:

“Happy 6 Mo, We are so f***ing proud of you, Love Team DL.”

Lovato horrified her family, friends and fans when reports broke in July that she had been found unconscious in her Hollywood Hills home after overdosing on drugs.

She survived the close call, and spent several month in rehab after she was released from hospital.

On New Year’s Eve, the 26-year-old told fans she was grateful to see 2019.

“So grateful for the lessons I’ve learned this year,” she said on Instagram.

“I will never take another day in life for granted, even the bad ones.

“Thankful for my fans, friends, family and everyone who supported me throughout this year. God bless.”

Demi is yet to speak publicly about the night she overdosed. Last year she defended her right to privacy, telling her Twitter followers:

“I would love to set the record straight on all the rumors out there but I literally don’t owe anyone anything so I’m not going to,” Lovato tweeted.

“All my fans need to know is I’m working hard on myself, I’m happy and clean and I’m SO grateful for their support.”
