At the HBO Max Friends reunion last month, it was revealed David Schwimmer and Jennifer Aniston had developed feelings for each other on the set of the iconic American sitcom while playing Ross and Rachel respectively. At the time, Anniston was married to Brad Pitt and Schwimmer was dating Australian singer Natalie Imbruglia.

During an appearance on the Kyle and Jackie O Show for KIISFM (per Daily Mail), the hosts asked the artist whether she was aware of Schwimmer’s feelings.

“Were you wondering if there was a crossover?,” Imbruglia asked the hosts. She continued jokingly, “I thought that too. No, I’m joking.”

On a more serious note she said it was such a long time ago, “I don’t remember.”

“I do remember being on the set and I remember everybody being lovely and really, really nice,” the now 46-year-old said. “I wasn’t paying attention to whether they were giving each other ‘little looks’ over my shoulder. I don’t know if that was happening. I’m OK with whatever happened back then. It was a long time ago.”

At the reunion, Schwimmer revealed, “I had a major crush on Jen. At some point we were both crushing hard on each other. But it was like two ships passing. One of us was always in a relationship and we never crossed that boundary. We respected that.”

“I remember saying one time to David, It’s going to be such a bummer if the first time you and I actually kiss is on national television. And sure enough, the first time we kissed was in that coffee shop,” Aniston added. “We channelled all of our adoration and love for each other into Ross and Rachel.”

The duo’s fellow cast mates,  Courtney Cox, Matthew Perry, Lisa Kudrow, and Matt LeBlanc, noted they were aware of the chemistry when the cameras weren’t running. “How great though, ultimately, because if you had and it didn’t work out,” she noted, “it probably wouldn’t have been as great.”

Oh, young love.
