While beauty trends aren’t bounded by the weather constrictions in the same way that fashion is, there are some make-up looks that are simply easily to pull off in the sunnier seasons. Take bright and colourful eye shadows, which can be a tad tricker to rock past June, but look effortless again once Spring hits. Meaning now is the time to try the latest line-up of vivid shades hitting counters – and if you’re in need of some inspiration, look no further than the standout looks from Screen Actors Guild Awards red carpet.

Nude and neutral beauty looks were few and far between at the SAGs, instead there was a refreshing and vivid array of colourful make-up in their place. Emily Blunt, Michelle Dockery and Tracee Ellis Ross each opted for variations of warm coppers and burnt orange tones on the night, while Chicago P.D. star, Sophia Bush went for a bold, punchy pink, which perfectly matched her magenta gown.

Making a case for lilac was Taraji P. Henson and Natalie Portman, who each had a wash of the ethereal tone across their lids. And showing us two ways to wear green, Orange is the New Black actress, Danielle Brookes lined her lashes in lime, while Kerry Washington’s almost-onyx, sooty and smoky eye threw a touch of teal.
