Last month, Ciara tied the knot with American footballer Russell Wilson. Shrouded in secrecy, details of the day were sparse and only now is the singer’s wedding planner, Mindy Weiss, chatting about some changes and complications that happened.

After initially looking at a ceremony location in North Carolina, the couple decided against it die to the contentious transgender bathroom law. According to Weiss, Ciara and Wilson then looked at Paris but scheduling clashed with Paris Couture Fashion Week. In the end, they decided on the palatial countryside castle in London – a third choice Ciara described as “magical”.

“Inside the castle, they had a chapel but it was too small because her dress [designed by Roberto Cavalli’s Peter Dundas] was 13-feet,” Weiss told The Knott. “Her dress in person was so much more spectacular than in the pictures, though in the pictures, they’re beautiful. In person, it was shockingly beautiful.” Dramatically adding to the dress’ length, Dundas surprised the bride with her stunning veil.
