Creative polymath and prolific multi-hyphenate Donald Glover – better known by his stage name, Childish Gambino – has been announced as the headlining act on the 24th annual Falls Festival lineup.
The oftentimes cerebral and always electric performer is the first act confirmed for festival dates across the country in Lorne, Marion Bay, Byron Bay and Freemantle. This will be Glover’s first appearance in the country since headlining last year’s Listen Out lineup; prior to that he delivered a spectacular performance at Splendour in the Grass 2014 and has since gone on to follow up his critically-acclaimed first albums Camp and Because The Internet with another EP, 2014’s Kauai. This coming September, Glover will also appear in the semi-autobiographical FX series Atlanta and will debut his new album, PHAROS, over three days at Joshua Tree.
The full Falls lineup is expected to be announced on Tuesday August 23. In the interim, begin planning your best New Years ever in accordance with the following festival dates.
Lorne, VICtoria: December 28 – 31 (18+)
Marion Bay, TASmania: December 29 – 31 (All ages)
Byron Bay, new south wales: December 31 – January 2 (18+)
Fremantle, western australia: January 7 – 8 (18+)
