May 19, 2021: Charlize Theron is one of those people who can pull off pretty much any hairstyle. Even when playing a serial killer in Monster, we all were like, “well, that’s a transformation if we’ve ever seen one!” Her illustrious career has led her down a path of debuting nearly every cut and style through the years. This week, she unlocked a new category of Charlize: The fiery redhead. In new photos from the set of her upcoming film The School for Good and Evil, fans got to see a very, very different Theron. Nonetheless, we’re into it.

Theron revealed the shocking new look on her Instagram on Tuesday, May 18. In the movie (inspired by the book series by Soman Chainani), the actress plays Lady Lesso, the dean of the school for evil. That said, her look has to give off a sinister air. Brought to life by longtime hairstylist Adir Abergelto, her hair is triangle-shaped in a way that is utterly chic and fashionable at the same time, gently grazing the tops of her shoulders, and goes out wider than her shoulders with voluminous brushed-out curls. The nutty professor energy is capped off with a stiletto-length, inky-grey metallic manicure, which fans can see while she hides the other half of her face.

Director Paul Feig shared a photo of Theron and co-star Kerry Washington on the set of the Netflix adaptation on Twitter, giving viewers yet another look at the South African native’s complete transformation. Abergelto also reposted the photos of Theron to his own Instagram page, captioning the photo: “The secret is out why I’ve been locked in Ireland. There aren’t many people I would have quarantined for….but for Lady Lesso, I would do anything. It has been so much fun creating this look with @charlizeafrica and the legend @paulfeig.”
