But the couple’s daughter Everly, four, isn’t interested in seeing her parents fall in love on-screen, according to Tatum.

When he appeared as a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live this week, the actor revealed he and Jenna recently decided it was time for their daughter to see Step Up.

Within 10 seconds, she was like, ‘Can I watch a real movie? Like a good one?'” Channing said.

“We were like, ‘What do you mean? This is a real movie! It was such a real movie they made, like, seven more of these. You will watch it! Sit down!'”

But despite her parents’ protestations, Everly just wasn’t impressed, asking again to watch a “real” movie.

“We were like, ‘Fine, just put on Moana, I don’t care.'”

The Magic Mike star recently penned a moving essay about his daughter in US Cosmopolitan magazine.

“My highest hope for her is just that she has the fearlessness to always be her authentic self, no matter what she thinks men want her to be.”

Channing, who married Jenna in 2009 but has been in a relationship with her since they starred opposite each other in Step Up, also paid tribute to his wife, and explained what drew him to her and eventually made him fall for her.

He recalled the day the actress bravely confessed her love for him without knowing if he felt the same way in return, and how he respected her for it.

“That radical authenticity of hers was what made me fall head over heels in love.

“Before I experienced it, I wouldn’t have known how to ask for it. Now I know it’s what I was always craving.

And that’s what I want for my daughter — to be expectation-less with her love and not allow preconceived standards to affect her, to ask herself what she wants and feel empowered enough to act on it.”

What a man.
