It’s all coming back to me now. Remember when Celine Dion sang Beauty And The Beast with Peabo Bryson after the release of the 1991 animated film? The duet version went on to win a Grammy for best pop performance by a duo or group with vocal.

Now, more than 25 years after singing the title track Dion is going to sing a new song tiled How Does A Moment Last Forever for the new Bill Condon directed live action adaption of the film. The track is written by the original Beauty And The Beast composer Alan Menken and lyricist Tim Rice who have described it as “an emotional ballad about holding onto life’s precious moments.” It’s an aptly titled song for the performer who lost her husband René Angélil and brother Daniel to cancer in the same week just last year.

Dion will join powerhouses Ariana Grande and John Legend who will also sing songs for the film’s soundtrack. Dion has performed many soundtracks over the years (Because You Loved Me was included in the 1996 film Up Close and Personal with Robert Redford and Michelle Pfeiffer and Dion’s Then You Look At Me became the theme song for 1999’s Bicentennial Man starring Robin Williams.) Her most famous film contribution was undoubtedly her song My Heart Will Go On for James Cameron’s 1998 blockbuster Titanic. The song reached number one all over the world and won an Academy Award for Best Original Song.

While we’re here, let’s revisit a couple of Dion’s famous tracks.
