SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA: Our proximity to the rest of the world leaves Australia isolated from the many glamorous riches the industry is afforded abroad. Travel restrictions have instead left us poring over decadent designs via the dense blue lights of our laptop screens. From February 8 to February 18, a sense of sartorial reprieve arrives at the Cartier Sydney Flagship store which will play host to a 150-strong piece high jewellery travelling collection.

Only available via appointment and for 10 days, customers are invited to explore the collection and purchase a slice of Cartier history. The offering features five themes of the Cartier house.

First is Cartier Tradition – sellable Cartier creations from the last century, brought back and restored in our workshops with our expertise with Cartier Tradition an opportunity to own a slice of lauded history. 20 pieces are available and include a number of pieces from the Art Deco period (1918 – 1939) including the Tutti Frutti bracelet and diamond pendant broach and remaining styles from the new femininity era (1939 – 1970), modern period (1970 – 1990) and contemporary era (1990 – present). The oldest piece is a statement necklace from the Belle Epoque period, circa 1906.

To celebrate the arrival of the High Jewellery collection to Australia, Cartier hosted two gala events at the previously never-before-seen Phoenix venue in the heart of the harbour city. To accompany the extravagant affair, a bespoke performance was unveiled by Sydney Dance Company and choreographed by Raphael Bonachela – Cartier’s newest brand ambassador.
