Fans of Cardi B and Offset have been shocked to learn today that the couple are already married … and have been for nine months.
The Bodak Yellow rapper responded to a report, confirming on Twitter they were married back in September.
“There are so many moments that I share with the world and there are moments that I want to keep for myself!” Cardi, who’s due to give birth to the couple’s child any week now, wrote. “Getting married was one of those moments!”
“Our relationship was so new, breaking up and making up, and we had a lot of growing to do but we was so in love we didn’t want to lose each other.”
The 25-year-old confirmed that she and the Migos rapper were married in her bedroom a month before he publicly proposed in October. Even though they were legally married, the rapper decided she wanted a proposal to savour.
“We found someone to marry us, and she did, just the two of us and my cousin. I said I do, with no dress, no makeup and no ring.
“I appreciate and love my husband so much for still wanting for me have that special moment that every girl dreams of, when he got down on his knee and put a ring on my finger and he did that for me!!”
Cardi seemed conflicted about sharing the news, ending her announcement:
“Well now since you [little] nosey f***s know at least ya can stop saying I had a baby out of wedlock.
“This [is] why I name [sic] my album Invasion Of Privacy cause [sic] people will do the most to be nosey about your life.”
It’s understood Cardi B and Offset met after collaborating on several tracks, including Lick, in 2016.
