Stars of Suicide squad, Cara Delevigne with Margot Robbie and Viola Davis attend Comic Con 2016 in San Diego

After several Fashion Week seasons and countless cover shoots, Cara Delevigne likely learned to be at ease with make-up and become comfortable with the swipe-on-wash-off, ‘it’s all good fun’ factor of bright colours and statement looks. Thankfully too, for even since stepping away from the catwalk Delevigne has brought a certain backstage-inspired beauty A Game to the red carpet, a place where many actresses otherwise play it safe.
While attending Comic Con in San Diego to promote her role as Enchantress in the much-hyped Suicide Squad, Delevigne’s make-up artist, Molly Stern created a cobalt-blue cat’s eye to match her electric blue outfit. Fusing high fashion catwalk with a slice of comic superhero, Delevigne managed the could-be fussy make-up still look low-key and cool via her pared back skin, full brow and effortless hair.

Stern started with a base of pale pink eye shadow, which helped the electric blue liner pop, and paired the look with a pale pink lip. So how can we all emulate Cara’s cobalt look and keep the liner crisp even in the San Diego heat? “I follow her around and touch her up throughout the day! So if we all had makeup artists following us around we could maintain our freshness too!” Stern told TeenVogue.com. “But generally for a long day “less is more,” always makes a huge difference. If you let your skin breath a bit, by keeping it sheer , touching up makes more sense and doesn’t build up and end up looking like cake batter on the skin.”
