Whether we are escaping the mundanity of our restricted lives or the messiness of our social media feeds, a woman’s night time routine has become a much-needed tool to disconnect and relax. In a new series “How I Wind Down…”, we speak to lot of different women about how they prepare for a restful evening.

Upon speaking with Brazilian-born, Australian-based curve model Bruna Lapinskas, it’s clear she strives for perfect order (don’t we all?!). As the country opens up post-pandemic, it seems we’re busier than ever with packed work and social schedules. Lapinskas is no different and has appeared in a multitude of national campaigns including Bras N Things’ new I Am Many Things campaign and Aje Athletica and has just partnered with plant-powered meal service, Soulara. So it’s no wonder that off-duty, the model spends her evenings prioritising ‘me’ time.

Here we explore her evening routine.

GRAZIA: Can you describe your night time beauty routine?

“Every time I finish work or even if I’m at home, I always try to keep my face clean. After every shoot I wash my face to remove the makeup and finish it with sunscreen. ALWAYS! My secret is easily.. SUNSCREEN EVERYDAY! Even when I’m home.”

How do you wind down after a busy day?

“I love having my ‘me’ time where I play my favourite playlist, clean my bedroom, organise my model kit for next day and make sure everything looks and feels organised. For me, it’s essential to have a clean and organised environment around me so I can concentrate and keep my mood happy and anxiety at bay. I also love washing and doing a treatment for my hair after a busy stressful day, followed by a good skincare routine to make sure my skin feels nice and healthy and then curl up with a veggie bowl from Soulara. Dream night.”

How do you decorate your space to assist in falling asleep?

“Even though I’m very messy with my own things in my bedroom – it’s an organised mess – I try my best to keep everything tidy around me.
If I don’t do it straight away and with my busy schedule, it becomes very hard to keep it up and when I notice I’ll have a mountain of clothes to put away.”

What time do you go to sleep?

“I normally try and go to sleep between 10:30pm and 11pm. It’s relatively late, but it’s normally the only time I have to organise my life, have my Soulara dinner which helps to save some time, prep everything for the next day and enjoy some quality ‘me’ time.”

Do you plan the next day’s look the night before or in the morning? If so, what’s your go-to look for an easy morning the next day?

“I rarely organise my look a night before. I know I should and would make my life easier, but I don’t. I strangely like the adrenaline, I can’t find anything…then I say ‘I have nothing to wear.. I’m not going anymore!'”

If I’m working I try to be as comfortable as possible, track pants and a jumper are my fave! Even more now with this weather. Otherwise a cool denim, a body suit, heels or boots, a coat and a few jewels to shake things up.”
