If you needed any further proof that Nicola Peltz and Brooklyn Beckham’s nuptials was a truly A-list affair, it came in the form of the bride’s Valentino gown.

Designed by the Italian luxury house’s creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli and involving multiple fittings from Rome to Miami, Peltz described the old Hollywood-inspired haute couture as “my dream dress”. “It was a no-brainer,” the bride told British Vogue, of her dress which featured a long train and teamed with a pair of French lace gloves. A message from the bride’s mother, Claudia Heffner Peltz, was stitched into the gown, signifying “something blue”.

“Seeing all the runway dresses in real life was so magic. It looked like someone’s dream closet,” Peltz said of visiting Valentino’s Rome HQ, per vogue.co.uk.

It was a case of less is more for Peltz’s long-term stylist, Leslie Fremar, who added:  “The simplicity of it (the dress) was magnificent”.

“We didn’t have to overly detail the dress to accomplish the magnitude of it, so we ended up eliminating the embroidery,” Fremar said. And Peltz, 27, had a very specific reference for her bridal hair and makeup – 90s supermodel, Claudia Schiffer.

“I always thought I wanted my hair half up, half down, but we’re going for long bangs with loose, natural hair,” Peltz said, per British Vogue. In November, Peltz told Carine Roitfeld’s CR Fashion Book that she had “not thought of a specific dress that I want to get married in”.

“So actually finding what that is with Valentino has been really amazing,” Peltz told the magazine. “The creative process has been fun, like finding the perfect fit and fabric. “We’ve been to Rome twice, watching everyone in the atelier, they’re just so talented. It is really a beautiful thing to be a part of, and it’s very exciting.”

Sharing their wedding photos on Instagram, the newly-married couple simply captioned them: “Mr. & Mrs. Peltz Beckham”. Wearing a Dior suit, Beckham, 23, tied the knot with Peltz in a reported $5 million three-day wedding held at Peltz family’s $130 million oceanfront home in Palm Beach, Florida. The groom had earlier revealed that he was taking his wife’s surname as his middle name to signify their union.

The star-studded guest list, of course, was led by Beckham’s parents, Victoria and David Beckham. Also in attendance – and dressed to impress – were Serena Williams, Gigi Hadid, Mark Anthony and his girlfriend Nadia Ferreria, the mother-of-the-groom’s ex-Spice Girls bandmates, Mel B and Melanie Chisholm, and Eva Longoria, who wore a sleek Victoria Beckham evening gown. It seemed very, very fitting for the occasion.

In February 2020, weeks before Europe went into lockdown, GRAZIA’s sister publication ICON travelled to Paris to shoot their biannual cover with Beckham, and Peltz was on set. In the interview, he told me of his love for New York City, having lived there as a photography student while attending Parsons University in 2017. Aside from recommending I eat at a pizza restaurant in Brooklyn called Lucali, Beckham talked about his dreams of living in the Big Apple again someday.

“I’ve always been in love with New York. Everywhere you go, there’s interesting people, interesting places to take pictures, the food is great – I’m a very big food guy,” he said. “When I moved to New York, it was amazing. I loved it, it’s where I want to be based when I’m a bit older and I’d like to start a family there,” he says.
