The initial unveiling of Bottega Veneta Salon 02 was done in secret back in April at the notorious Berlin nightclub Berghain. Among the guests were Skepta, Honey Dijon and Virgil Abloh but for the rest of us, it wasn’t until mid-September that we laid eyes on Daniel Lee’s feathered pants and sequin gowns.
It was a dark and moody day when the Bottega Veneta Salon 02 campaign (featuring model Dede Mansro and lensed by Tyrone Lebon) mysteriously appeared on the floor of the iconic Bondi Icebergs. On a usual Spring afternoon, the sunshine bounces off the white walls and sparkles on the surface of the water. The dreary weather however felt fitting for the Fall 2021 campaign given our distance from the northern hemisphere – hail is the closest we’ll experience to a white Christmas this year.
At the weekend we were treated to a closer look at the collection when Bondi natives and content creators flocked poolside to capture new-season styles – knitted tailoring and updated cult accessories – in front of the dramatic backdrop. Likewise, fashion enthusiasts from across the metropolis ventured east to the coast to witness the unconventional billboard in person.
