According to The Hollywood Reporter, The Rhythm Section – a spy thriller film where Blake Lively was starring as James Bond-esque character – has been indefinitely shut down because she hurt her hand while filming in Dublin in December.

Production on the film was put on hold at the end of 2017 while Lively recuperated and got surgery on her hand. However, it is now being reported that that surgery didn’t go as planned. The actress will reportedly undergo another surgery and take a while longer to recover.

The insider told the publication that while half the film has been shot, it is unclear when filming will recommence and crew have been told to look for other work. The film – which follows a woman (Lively) who seeks to uncover the truth after her family were killed in a plane crash – is being directed by The Handmaid’s Tale’s Reed Morano.

The actress was performing an action sequence in December when her hand was injured.

More to come.
