If there’s one thing Blake Lively knows how to do, it’s shut down a Met Gala red carpet. In recent pre-pandemic years, the actress, who was one of the night’s co-chairs alongside her husband Ryan Reynolds, became one of the public’s favourite Met attendees, alongside Rihanna, of course, for always going all out when it came to her looks and, importantly, adhering to the differing annual themes.

After taking a few years away from the night (where she was sorely missed), Lively returned with a bang on Monday evening, wearing a transformative Katniss Everdeen-style Atelier Versace, which had a sweeping bronze train when she arrived before the bow opened to reveal a layer of sky blue throughout the train as she walked up the stairs.

I mean:

As a co-chair, Lively was one of the first big names to arrive at the event, but despite the hoards of A-listers who came after her, her look continued to dominate, topping most polls for the best-dressed attendee of the night (an accolade well worth adding to a CV or iMDb profile, if you ask us).

Following the official Met Gala dinner, the actress and her husband didn’t retire for the evening, a la Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson who headed home for doughnuts and pizza, but rather they hit one of the many celebrity-filled after-parties, for which Lively made her second (third?) outfit change of the night.

Photographed on the streets of New York City heading into a party at the Standard Hotel, Lively was seen donning a red bejewelled micro mini dress with black fringe on the sleeves and hem with black patent mary jane heels to match. Though the designer hasn’t been confirmed, it’s likely also Versace.

She pulled her blonde hair, which had been long and loose earlier in the night, back into a bun and kept her makeup simple and bronzed with multiple statement rings donning her fingers.
