Beyonce’s social media presence is more curated than candid, so it’s surprising to see Queen Bey pose for a casual selfie with fellow diva Mariah Carey.
The Formation singer posed with Mariah backstage at her All I Want For Christmas Is You holiday concert in New York on Sunday night, local time.
Carey posted the selfie on her Instagram and Twitter accounts with the caption “I love you @Beyonce thank you sooooo much for coming out tonight.”
Mariah and Beyonce undoubtedly have two of the biggest egos in the business, and coincidentally they have both have alter-egos – like Beyonce’s Sasha Fierce, Mariah has her own other persona, Bianca. It appeared there might be tension between the two Grammy winners when Carey told Stellar magazine last week “Well, I love Beyoncé, but Bianca, my alter ego, came before hers, you know”.
But Mariah and Beyonce’s rare selfie has quickly put an end to any chance of the tabloids predictably pitting the two women against each other.
