Beyoncé Knowles has broken the record for most Grammy Award wins of all time and honestly, there was point where we were convinced that she wasn’t even going to come tonight.

Having already won three awards before even stepping foot in the venue, Beyoncé was tied with Georg Solti whose record of 31 Grammy Award wins has been the benchmark since 1997. Now, having taken home best dance/electronic album for Renaissance: Act 1 Beyoncé has taken the top spot as all time winner.

But we were’t kidding when we said we thought she wasn’t coming. Despite the presence of her husband Jay-Z, Beyoncé was nowhere in sight for most of the night.

Then by magic, she appeared at table next to Jay-Z looking like she just stepped out of Studio 54 in a metallic Gucci dress with rah rah ruffles and long black opera gloves.

After a cryptic post on Instagram acknowledging three wins that she wasn’t even there to receive in person, there was fears that the singer wasn’t actually going to show up.

There was a time when Beyoncé arriving on the red carpet was one of the most anticipated parts of the evening. But the 41-year-old singer seems determined to break the celebrity wheel of paparazzi fanfare and focus on the very thing that has made her a global star which is singing.

Eschewing the traditional glamour moment upon arrival, Beyoncé instead opted to backdoor the event and dodge the chaotic run of photographers and journalists. She wasn’t the only one either – Adele and Jennifer Lopez both opted to keep their arrivals discreet.

Beyoncé kicked off 2023 with not one but several bangs: her private performance at the Palm in Dubai and the announcement of a world tour. Except Australia. For now. Sorry Aussies.

It’s been five years since Beyoncé last took her show on the road and tickets to the Renaissance World Tour 2023 hasn’t even dropped yet and it’s already broken the internet. Literally, with legislators in the US slyly throwing shade at Ticketmaster ahead of sales with a warning they “were watching” after the chaos that was Taylor Swift tour sales.

Tonight, at the 65th Grammy Awards, Beyoncé has been nominated for an extraordinary nine awards for her Renaissance: Act I album, more than anyone else on the night (Kendrick Lamar has come in second with eight nominations). This ties her with husband Jay-Z for the biggest number of all time Grammy nominations, 88 each.

Maybe because of how visually driven Lemonade was, there’s yet to be any visuals to accompany the record-breaking album. In fact, Best Music Video is one of the few primary categories that Beyoncé hasn’t been nominated for simply because she’s chosen to release an old school record.

But it doesn’t seem like Beyoncé needed the extra help.
