The problem with wearing comfy sports bras under workout gear all weekend is it makes going back to underwire come Monday morning feel like akin to torture.
Fortunately, thanks to rise and rise of bralettes in 2016 and tendencies toward sheer and mesh fabrics on the Spring/Summer 2017 runways, you could count the occasions it’s now not appropriate to wear a sports crop top as underwear on one hand – particularly when it’s of the fashion-forward print and design variety.
Gone are the days of chunky, clunky monotone sports cleavage support. Today’s best fitness brands offer under tops so well-designed and at times even pretty, they deserve to be seen (or hinted at, in very least). And given Australia has a smorgasbord of fantastic home-grown workout labels to choose from, you needn’t look far to overhaul your underwear drawer.
What’s the best way to work it? Try a coloured crop under a white tee or collared shirt, teamed with flared cropped jeans or a fitted skirt. Loose sun dresses look fresh over a white racing back bra top. Oversized arm holes offer a perfect glimpse of side bra and SS17’s big Flashdance-style off-the-shoulder top look is ideal for flashing a hint of luxe workout bra strap.
