The month of May for a fashion and beauty editor is fabulously manic. Since returning to normal scheduling, the month starts out with all the glitz and glamour of the Met Gala before focus shifts to Mother’s Day. Afterpay Australian Fashion Week then follows, where an industry of extremely well-dressed men and women will gather to celebrate a slew of local designers (stay tuned for ongoing coverage).

Our survival kit for a caffeine-fuelled four weeks will comprise of our go-to pieces and below, a handful of GRAZIA editors have listed exactly what we’re reaching for during the month of May.

Witchery OCRF Longline White Shirt, $130. SHOP NOW

“In partnership with the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation, Witchery has launched the 14th annual White Shirt Campaign. To raise much-needed funds to develop a test for ovarian cancer, the beloved Australian brand has teamed up with designer Michael Lo Sordo to release a staple oversized shirt with 100 percent of the proceeds going to the OCRF.” – Rebekah Clark, Features Writer

Conserving Beauty InstaMelt™ Deep Exfoliating Day Dissolver Wipes 30 Pack, $39. SHOP NOW

“Welcome to the world’s first dissolving makeup wipe. Conceptualised by Australian beauty start-up Conserving Beauty, this genius invention is tackling waste with water-soluble wipes that disappear when wet or alternatively, are bio-degradable in landfill over just 14 days. It is saturated in nourishing ingredients for your skin like jojoba oil, hemp seed and sunflower oil and comes in these small sachets so they’re perfect for on the run.” – Rebekah Clark, Features Writer

One Eleven Bliss, 40 Serves + Small Canister, $140, SHOP NOW

“I go through stages of being unable to sleep. No matter how much exercise I do or how many things I cross off the to-do list at work, some anxious thoughts just simply decide that 11.30pm on a Tuesday evening is the moment they would like to ruminate in my mind. A few weeks ago, I was introduced to One Eleven – a new luxury health brand on the market with potent Ayurvedic products. Bliss – one of their herbal elixirs – is a tea-like drink which promotes mental calm and clarity, and deeper sleep patterns. So far? So good. While I need to be super strict on myself in actually going to bed at a reasonable time, a cup of this an hour prior and I’m drifting away to the land of nigh faster than you can say… ‘what anxious thoughts?’”  – Jessica Bailey, editorial director

KOURH Beau Skirt, $750. SHOP NOW

“Established by designer Tarek Kourhani, KOURH is one of the most exciting brands to launch in Australia with party wear and adaptable staples undefined by societal norms, gender, age and seasons. Many of the pieces can be adjusted to take on a different fit or function – like their oversized blazers which can transform into a crop – but my favourite has to be this glitzy mini skirt. Perfect for post-pandemic parties.” – Rebekah Clark, Features Writer

DISSH Banks Black Linen Vest, $79.99, SHOP NOW

“I confess to ordering a couple of pieces from Dissh per week at the moment. With so many work events and social dinners on the calendar, I’m finding I need more and more cool little pieces to throw on (like this set) – and Dissh’s new Summer 2022 collection “Sunmotion” is serving up the trans-seasonal goods. Last week, I bought a black linen vest (not to be confused with the woollen grandpa-chic sweater vest I’ll no doubt have on when the cold snap arrives).” – Jessica Bailey, editorial director

Adidas Originals Parley Stan Smith Shoes, $140. SHOP NOW

“The Adidas x Parley Spring/Summer 2022 collection (which is available to shop now) has been created in a bid to intercept plastic waste from remote islands, beaches, coastal communities and shorelines. Upon inspection it is hard to believe that these beloved sneakers are created with a yarn which contains at least 50 percent Parley Ocean Plastic and 50 percent from recycled polyester.” – Rebekah Clark, Features Writer

JVN Undamage Strengthening Shampoo, $28, SHOP NOW

“Celebrity hair stylist and Queer Eye star Jonathan Van Ness’ haircare range JVN launched into Sephora Australia last week. Like me, you’re probably familiar with the 35-year-old “Yass queen” merman’s long, shiny tresses. But in a sea of haircare launches – “silicone-free this”, and “sulphate-free that” – it’s hard to pick the good from the very good. I would like to tell you, my fine hair has been subjected to JVN’s Undamage Strengthening Shampoo (and its conditioner) for a few washes now and every time it dries soft, shiny and smooth. (I’m the type who needs to wash my hair before every event to avoid a strawy look, and this shampoo and conditioner combo isn’t drying it out, nor fading my colour. I’m a huge fan.)” – Jessica Bailey, editorial director

Bras n Things Indulge Plunge Push Up Bra, Pale Blue $64.99 SHOP NOW

“This sweet set arrived at my door with a note: A survey conducted by Bras N Things in March of 2022 found that 70 percent of 5800 mothers interviewed said they felt the pressure surrounding an expectation to be perfect. In response, the lingerie giant’s launched its latest campaign which celebrates motherhood as “perfectly imperfect”. (You can view the campaign video here.) While I’m not a mother at this moment in my life, the campaign’s messaging stuck with me – and my new delivery was the perfect mix of comfort and sexiness, something all women should feel, irrespective of whether she has children. Consider BNT for last-minute Mother’s Day gifting!” – Jessica Bailey, editorial director
