Remember when you used to go to craft parties as a kid and you’d maybe pop some clay in a mould, bake it, paint it and take it home?

Well, Bella Hadid is still doing that. The supermodel has just celebrated her 23rd birthday and she celebrated in adorably low-key style in New York, heading to paint-your-own ceramics chain Colour Me Mine to continue a birthday tradition that Bella says began when she was a child.

Gigi, mum Yolanda and a handful of friends — including brother Anwar and his girlfriend Dua Lipa — did some pottery painting before heading to a brunch at swish vintage-style eatery Sadelle’s in Soho.

The family sat in a private section of the restaurant and everyone sang Happy Birthday when a cake was brought out for Bella. Continuing in the playful childlike theme of the day, their table was decked out with streamers, kiddie decorations and balloons, and there were custom Bella cupcakes.

Alexander Wang also sent a truly incredible looking cake decorated as a pizza and Gigi gave her sister a stunning display of roses.

Bella’s brunch outfit was fierce, an all-black almost Matrix-esque ensemble of satiny black utilitarian-style blazer and miniskirt paired with sheer black knee-high stockings, Doc Marten boots and small oval black sunglasses.

Later that night, the celebrations continued and Bella changed into a colourful, body-hugging velvet dress and knee-high black croc-print boots.

Oh, to be a Hadid.
