Model sisters Bella and Gigi Hadid just walked in the Marc Jacobs Fall 2022 show at the New York City Public Library.
The show felt like a moment of lightness after what has been a dark few days in America, following the overturning of Roe vs Wade. Jacobs referenced German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche in this show notes, making a point that “creativity is essential to living”. Truth.
Striking collection aside, one detail that stuck out was the fact that both Bella and Gigi Hadid seemed to have shaved their heads for the occasion. Models often undergo hair transformations for notable jobs, but a clean shaven mullet is certainly a commitment. Turns out, it’s not real, but in fact hair sorcery courtesy of iconic stylist Duffy. Both also showed off bleached brows — another beauty trend that’s striking but in this instance, easily reversible. Otherwise, the makeup look directed by Diane Kendal was clean and minimal, the perfect compliment to a bright, bold, voluminous collection.
