It’s been a turbulent week for A$AP Rocky and Rihanna, who were the subject of cheating rumours over the weekend while the singer is heavily pregnant with the couple’s first child. Thankfully, the infidelity reports were quickly put to rest by designer Amina Muaddi (who had been accused online of being involved with Rocky, despite her close relationship with Rihanna). But unfortunately, that’s not all: now there’s more drama – and far more serious allegations – afoot.

Upon returning from a holiday in Rihanna’s home country of Barbados, where social media photos showed the couple having fun on a jetski and out for dinner, Rocky was arrested at Los Angeles international airport on Wednesday night in connection to a November 2021 shooting in the city.

The 33-year-old rapper – whose legal name is actually Rakim Mayers – was taken immediately into custody, but was released three hours later after posting the $550,000 USD bail.

The shooting had not previously been reported anywhere in the media until this point. The victim, who survived, claimed to police that the rapper along with two others, approached him on the street while holding a handgun. According to police reports, the victim claimed Rocky shot at him three or four times, and that a bullet grazed his left hand.

In a statement on Twitter, LAPD said the victim had sustained a “minor injury” after which his assailants “fled on foot”. They are now calling for witnesses who may have information to come forward.

Rocky hasn’t released a statement about the incident yet, but here’s hoping it’s all cleared up soon. There’s a Rihanna baby about to be brought into the world and that deserves our full, undivided attention, after all.
