UPDATE: 2/9/2021 EST: In previous days, Twitter has been ablaze with speculation Armie Hammer could be involved in California’s Wonder Valley death investigation. Although he was working close by to the site where remains were found by hikers on January 31, 2020, a spokesperson for the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office disputed the rumours.

“Armie Hammer’s name hasn’t come up as a suspect at all. We have no plans to investigate him,” a police spokesperson told The Sun.

ORIGINALLY PUBLISHED 2/8/2021 EST: Twitter is waiting with bated breath as rumours continue to swirl that an explosive story on embattled actor Armie Hammer is set to drop at any minute.

At the weekend, celebrity gossip Instagram account Deux Moi shared screenshots of a number of unverified ‘submissions’ that predicted a large U.S. media outlet was about to publish a shocking story about the actor. The contents of the rumoured exposé remains unknown at the time of publishing.

In direct messages shared across Instagram last week by account @houseofeffie – messages which Hammer has not verified – the actor reportedly had conversations with different women about cannibalistic fetishes and disturbing sexual proclivities. The sender behind the handle @armiehammer told one woman of his appetite for drinking her blood. “I need your blood. I crave it,” the sender wrote. On another occasion, the sender writes, “I am 100 percent a cannibal”, before claiming to have eaten a live animal in the past.

Another read: “Would you come and be my property till you die?” followed by a request to “cut off one of your toes and keep it with me in my pocket so I always had a piece of you in my possession”.

Hammer denied the “bullsh*t claims”, with his attorney, Andrew Brettler of Lavely and Singer, labelling the accusations “patently untrue” and that any interactions with partners were “completely consensual in that they were fully discussed, agreed upon, and mutually participatory.”

The Call Me By Your Name star’s agency and personal publicist both suddenly parted ways with him over the weekend.

Speculation reached fever pitch today, with some online sleuths alleging that the disappearance of a woman just outside of Palm Springs in June of 2020 was at the same time the actor was said to be working in the area. Remains were found this month, leading many commenters to draw connections between the upcoming story and the timely discovery of a body. GRAZIA is not suggesting that this is anything more than social media conjecture.

As talk continued about the upcoming exposé, House of Effie posted (then quickly deleted) an Instagram Story about the developments. “Holy shit. I know what’s going to come out. It’s bad. Really bad,” read the text posted on the Story. “Like I’m shaking and feel like I’m gonna throw up bad…”

Hammer will no longer be part of the cast of romantic comedy Shotgun Wedding also starring Jennifer Lopez.

“In light of the vicious and spurious online attacks against me, I cannot in good conscience now leave my children for 4 months to shoot a film in the Dominican Republic,” Hammer said in a statement last week. “Lionsgate is supporting me in this and I’m grateful to them for that.”

Josh Duhamel will now take Hammer’s role in Shotgun Wedding.

Hammer was also set to star in the Paramount Plus TV series The Offer, a story about the making of The Godfather. “Well-placed sources” have reportedly admitted Hammer was asked to leave the project.

Crisis, starring Hammer, Gary Oldman and Evangeline Lilly, will hit Australian cinemas on March 18. No word yet on press junkets but we’re assuming Hammer will not be a part of the film’s promotion, a sure-fire blow to the studio. Hammer has also already filmed Disney’s Death On The Nile and Searchlight Pictures comedy Next Goal Wins.

More to come.
